Club Blvd. Garden Kickoff
Join the Affordable Housing Action Team and Club Blvd. leaders on On Saturday, June 12 at 9:00 AM, as we build the community garden. Residents have been planning and dreaming for the construction of their community garden, and now it is finally time to install large planters full of summer vegetables. Beyond providing fresh produce to families who experience food apartheid, the garden serves as a community gathering space; it is a place to build leadership and strengthen community.
Affordable housing isn’t just about the price of where people live, but also the resources that exist there. As the community garden is a resource for residents of Club Blvd, it is also about building connections between neighborhoods in the greater Durham community. We invite volunteers from across neighborhoods and faith communities in Durham to grow this garden and the connections between communities of Durham. Here’s to an abundant supply of fresh produce, wonderful learning experiences, great relationship building, and FUN for Club Blvd. residents for many years to come!
